This week, New England is literally getting lit up to work out. Starting on October 3, Boston residents will be able to run and attend outdoor yoga, Pilates, barre, and boot camp classes in a “light forest” along the Charles River Esplanade.
The—which will be slightly larger than a football field and will include more than 10,000 solar-powered LED lights—is the work of fitness fashion brand . And it’s not just a lot of lights—different hues and sounds will be activated by movement, adding interactive flair to sweat sessions.
The forest will be open to the public from October 3–13, and free workout classes with some of the city’s best teachers will run starting on October 8. We have just one question: Um, can we get a Hudson River Light Forest sometime soon? —Lisa Elaine Held
